1950s Vintage Inspiration

My new favorite site is Fashion-Pictures, style galleries from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It provides free pictures of vintage clothing. I got lost searching through the different styles of the eras, much of which you’d guess are inspiration for some designer runways and for recreations at stores like ModCloth. One of my favorite parts of the site is that it provides photos of the different starlets of the time. The top image comes from the 1950s gallery as well as the photo of Audrey Hepburn. There is something very classy and demure about that era that I love. The modest hemlines come off as elegant and elongate the frame. Feminine details like floral prints and gloves are so glamorous. Mod Cloth’s Save the Date dress encompasses those girly details and classic shape that I love.
