This is what I wore over the weekend.
For antiquing on Saturday (Day 12): Thrifted scarf; Target turtleneck; Gap pants and belt; Charming Charlie’s earrings; Nine West shoes; Thrifted Ralph Lauren purse
For Sunday brunch and movie (Day 13): H&M sweater; c/o Jack Wills gingham blouse; c/o James Jeans Twiggy Black Cat leggings; Gap ballet flats; Silver Mine Jewelry
This outfit started with my love for scarves and anything equestrian. I love playing with different ways to wear scarves, and when I saw Sydney from the Daybook style her scarf like this, I knew I wanted to try it. I folded the scarf diagonally and brought the two ends together and tied them around my neck, like a cowboy kerchief, and then I layered my belt over the scarf at my natural waist. Ta-da! A new way to belt it. Celine Dion-style!
In said amazing outfit, we ventured to the Larchmere neighborhood in Cleveland for antiquing. The antique stores ranged from completely random kitsch to obscure, expensive pieces like the kind that make people rich via the Antiques Road Show. One store that had us at hello was Elegant Extras. Based on the storefront, you would assume that they only carry porcelain and china dishes, but if you navigate your way through the narrow rows between tables and tables of dishes, you will find several cases of vintage fine jewelry and some very fun paintings including the mannequins. I had to share some photos of this store because it is just out of this world. There was so much jewelry to choose from, but when it came down to it, my favorite cases were those with the statement earrings and necklaces. Of course no actual purchases were made during this trip due to the 30 for 30 spending freeze.
