I think by now you know that I have an obsession with scarves. Since a fabulous Hermès or Emilio Pucci silk scarf is out of my budget, I go rummaging for them in thrift and consignment shops. I was lucky enough to find this no-name equestrian print (my favorite variety) silk scarf at a consignment shop in Medina, a suburb of Cleveland. Using my handy how to tie a scarf guide that I posted last week, I tied this scarf in what is called a butterfly tie. I loved it because it created the illusion of a bow tie blouse, which I am also obsessed with at the moment.
I built my outfit around the idea of wearing this scarf, and because my office is business casual, I chose to wear dark jeans, a white button down, and a blazer. Since I was giving off somewhat of a western vibe, I tucked in my shirt and chose to wear a brown belt, which naturally meant I needed to wear a pair of neutral shoes to match. Also detecting a 60s/70s anchorwoman vibe, I styled my hair in a retro poof.
I always love how demure and proper a silk scarf looks with any outfit. And I will be registering for my membership with the Golden Girls, if they will have me.
