A "cool" outfit

Thrifted Gap dress / The Limited belt / Riley (Chicago) necklace / United Colors of Benetton leggings / Franco Sarto boots
I am loving the combination of denim, leopard print, and gold accessories here. I was wearing this outfit and a man at work said, “That’s a really cool outfit!” Not “You look hot” or “Did it hurt when you fell out of heaven?” Just, “That’s a really cool outfit.” Men everywhere can take note. I would accept “That’s a really cool outfit,” any day.

Sunday Morning: Tory Burch

I was excited to catch the story about Tory Burch on this past Sunday Morning. Although her story isn’t the rags to riches kind — she grew up on a horse farm with jet setting parents, she worked for Ralph Lauren and Narcissco Rodriguez, and she was married to wealthy businesman Chris Burch — it’s definitely inspiring to see someone who is doing exactly what she should be doing. Cheers to that!

Business Casual Friday Jeans Day

H&M jacket and swearer / Gap pants / c/o Nine West boots

I haven’t been wearing these pants enough lately so I thought I’d take them on a wild ride to make up for it. Business Casual on Friday Jeans Day. They’ve never been there before, and they have never looked so good. This outfit was appropriate for a Friday meeting as well as sushi later. And then a riding lesson. No, that didn’t happen. They aren’t jodhpurs. (I wish they were.)

Turkey Meatballs with Giada

I was thinking about comfort foods the other day, and one that immediately came to mind was meatballs and spaghetti. I was surprised that I hadn’t made such an easy and affordable recipe yet. Instead of making the beef-based version, I thought I’d try this ground turkey version from Giada di Laurentiis’ Everyday Italian cookbook. Although it’s not as satisfying as my mom’s homemade version, it’s little bit easier on the conscience. The parsley and Romano cheese did gave off an amazing smell. Isn’t half of the taste in the smell anyways?

Snowed in

Old Navy sweater and shoes  / A&E jeans /  BP Nordstrom scarf / Nars Heatwave lipstick /  H&M earrings / Silver mine watch and bracelet
We were hit with our biggest, iciest storm yet this winter here in Pittsburgh this weekend. It meant no skating lessons Saturday morning, so  I decided to use my new membership to the Carnegie Museum of Art to see the Teenie Harris exhibit. It was nice to just sit and absorb the photo slide show in the exhibit hall. We also went to see one of my favorite movies of the year and my front runner for best picture, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. It was a touching and beautiful story of a son trying to keep the spirit of his father alive amongst the tragedy of 9-11. It had a positive message in the end. What did you do to beat the cold and dreary weather this weekend?
