Top Shop Scalloped Swimsuit, $68
By now, I hope you’ve purchased your swimwear for the season. This is the point when everything is going on sale and styles are sure to run out. Just in case you haven’t check out my favorite choices after the jump. For me this year it’s all about interesting shapes, patterns and colors and vintage silhouettes. I am loving the clever scalloped trim of this Topshop suit in classic black and white.
Urban Outfitters High-Waisted Bottom and Similar Top, $42 and $42
I wish I could find this striped top on their site, but it must be sold out. Urban Outfitters has done a nice job of making suggestions on the many ways you can mix and match this top and bottom. The high waist and bralette top really make for an interesting silhouette — one that is sure to not be copied by many on the beach this season. I may just wait for the bottoms to go on sale to mix and match with my tops for next year.
J.Crew Factory Anchor Top and bottom, $19.50 and $29.50
I just love the playful anchor pattern on this bikini set. For anyone headed to the east coast or even down south for your vacation this summer, this will strike that perfect nautical vibe. And the bikini top has great coverage while still showing a little skin.
Target Bandeau Top and Bottom, $19.99 and $17.99
I got this bikini top and bottom in this exact color and I can’t help but feel like a mermaid in it. It might have something to do with my hair color, which really pairs well with this color. I bought a similar hue in purple last summer and I really like the pastel thing I have going on. Pastels are great to pair with basic colors such as navy or with other pastels and bright patterns. This suit will be great to mix and match.
/ The Limited Top ($12) / Old Navy Jacket / Unionbay Sandals via Kohl’s
Soft shorts are this perfect mix of totally acceptable going out clothes and lounge wear all in one. I looked around for the perfect pair and finally settled on these from Target. Order one size larger if you want to add some length.
I wore these over the weekend with this lace top for a girl’s weekend at Lago Winery in Jamestown, PA. These are considered festival wear after all. I can’t think of anything more similar to a festival in the life of a 29-year old than going to a winery in the middle of a rural town. There was wildlife, a barn and even cows. I layered on this army jacket at night.
Now it’s time to work on that tan.
I’ve been on the lookout for recipes that are light and easy to make for summer nights. Ideally something healthy as I’m scared at the thought of beach season quickly approaching. Anything involving mango and cilantro ranks very high on my list as I could eat either by the bag full. I even had thoughts of not sharing this salad.
Mangoes were on sale at the Market District where I shop and there was a sample lady with a salad similar to this one. Hers used red onion, and I am not sure what the dressing was. I simply used olive oil and vinegar. The result is a great mix of sweet and sharp flavors, which I love. This and the latest issue of Vanity Fair were my sides for dinner last night. I am not sure what Sofia Vergara is up to besides Modern Family and being engaged to Pittsburgh’s Joe Manganiello (I keep hoping I will see them together around town), but I guess I will find out.
2 large mangoes diced
1/2 onion diced
2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
There are many variations of this salad and this one from Epicurious looks really good.

The Goodwill Good Style Fashion Show was a blast from beginning to end. If you haven’t been following, every year Goodwill gives me and fellow bloggers money to purchase and style outfits from Goodwill that are worn for a runway show.
My theme this year was “Cleveland in Bloom”. With all of the new and exciting things happening in Cleveland lately, I felt like it was the right moment to celebrate the city’s renaissance with the vibrant colors and patterns of spring. The picture above is of two of my fabulous models Kali and Soul. Follow the jump to see more looks from the show!
I was so lucky to have my friends from college modeling in the show. It made hair and makeup and cocktail hour that much more fun. I was also happy to have my parents and both sisters in tow. They did so much to help including my mom hemming the striped top below as well as being in the audience to support me.
Models walked down the runway to Jungle Drum by Emiliana Torrini followed by Soft Shock by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Hair and makeup was kept natural to complement the already beautiful models. The flower pins were all hand made.

Far left outfit: Boohoo Top / Express Dress
I wore a simple black dress with a handmade floral pin.
At the end of the night, we had to take a look at the view outside of Windows on the River. And just because it is just too funny not to share, here is a picture of me strutting my stuff down the runway. Hot stuff, right?

Mother’s Day this year will be quite the occasion. This year my sisters and I will actually be in the same state to celebrate with our mother. Us being in the same state is a rare event these days so I am really looking forward to it. We plan to go to Trattoria in Cleveland’s Little Italy. The Linguine with Mussels are calling my name.
For our lunch, I am wearing this bright combination of cherry red, yellow and floral print. I found this jacket for $5 while rummaging around a garage sale last summer. It expresses my excitement for spring perfectly.
I can’t believe the Goodwill Good Style Fashion Show is only a day away. There is still much to be done — packing, ironing, etc. I hope to see you there! It will be a great event!
