I bought a pair of leopard print heels. That may sound incredibly cliche and very fashion blogger-esque, but I promise I had good reason. I was on the mission for the perfect she for fall. It needed to compliment the various colors in my wardrobe from the brightest pinks to the most steady navys. It also needed to be comfortable and stylish. A neutral shoe of some sort was what I needed, but I didn’t want to go too pale to harken back to summer.
At first I was not convinced that the leopard print would go with most of my outfits, but after I started to think about it, it made sense. Leopard print is great for pattern mixing and combines two neutrals — black and tan — into one, giving it the ultimate versatility.
I first tried the he Juli version of this shoe, which is wedge. It was two narrow in the toes so I tried the Desi in a kitten heel instead. That turned out to be much better. I am hoping that these Sole Society shoes stand the test of time because I am already obsessed with them. They look just as perfect with a skinny leg pant as they do with a really loud skirt.

I was ready for fall on approximately July 28. Yeah — I’m obsessed! I have been on the lookout since then for anything fall themed. Something that has been on my fall/winter wardrobe wish list for a while are pattern sweaters. I was specifically looking for something like this southwestern print sweater.
When I saw this sweater while shopping Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the different take on the fall cardigan with its interesting patchwork and asymmetrical design. In this color, I can wear it casually with a flannel or to work with dress pants. Over the weekend, when we were experiencing unusually chilly temps, I decided to layer it over this great tunic that I also scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Like I told my sister, she can give me a Nordstrom Gift Card for my birthday every year if she’d like. 🙂
The tunic is longer so it can be worn over leggings and has a nice drape to it. I didn’t realize how see through it was. I probably wont wear a tank top underneath it next time since it’s so noticeable.
This sweater with any top, skinny jeans or dress pants and boots is a great fall go-to!
The number one item on my wish list for fall is a pair of lace-up ballet flats. I first fell in love with the Green Billy Ella’s from Anthropologie. They are so elegant and look like a ballerina slipper, but the bright color keeps them fun and modern. A little on the pricey side though. I also found this pair of cranberry Nine West Lace-Up Flats, which are not a bad price. The deep colors gives them a very romantic, medieval look like something Sansa Stark might wear. Not sure they are my style. The Topshop Lace-Up Flats are my favorite (also available at Nordstrom). They are a great style at a great price and come in good colors. Now I just need to decide between the black or the red pair. Which lace-up flat is your favorite?
