A sheer blouse is a bold choice for work wear. That’s why I always make sure to layer heavily anytime I am wearing one. But, anytime I wear a white tank top under a sheer top it sticks out like a sore thumb. Note to self: invest in a nude tank top. The dark pattern of this blouse is enough to cancel out its “sheernish.” so I opted out of the tank top underneath and hoped a nice cardigan and a nude bra would do the trick. It seems to have worked. Also, I love how well the skirt and blouse go together even though I found them on completely separate thrifting trips. Brights and floral print always make me happy!

I’ve never been a fan of camo. When I started seeing the skinny done in camo, I didn’t even really believe myself at first when I started to like it. But then I started seeing it over and over again, and I couldn’t resist. Kind of like how you hear that one pop song over and over again on the radio and you pretend not to like it, but before you know it you’re singing “It’s a party in the U.S.A.” as loud as you can with the windows rolled up and the radio as high as it will go. Or something like that.
I found these camo skinnies at Old Navy, and I’ve never looked back. The sophisticated cut of the skinny leg and the rugged camo print are the perfect manifestation of the “I want it all” American attitude. Surrounding the camo with classic pieces only further emphasizes its identity crisis and makes me love it even more.

The cargo vest was one of those trends that I didn’t really understand until I tried it. Am I supposed to dress it up or dress it down? Can I wear it with something else that’s sleeveless? Removing sleeves from something apparently has quite the disorienting effect on me. Now that I have one, the question is what doesn’t it look good with? Blouses, t-shirts, dresses — it can do it all. It has that off-duty but still pulled-together look that I love.
I scored my cargo vest at Target for $30 in the beginning of spring. I haven’t seen it since, but I did find this similar cargo vest at Macy’s, which is now on sale.
