Well, it’s officially winter. Our first real snow storm hit us over the weekend. Luckily, it was nothing major, just enough snow to cover the grass, but keep the roads clear. That’s the kind of snow I like. My weekend was a good mix of productive and fun. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw in my stories that I’m trying a capsule wardrobe for the first time. Couldn’t be more excited about it. It’s freed up a ton of space in my closet already. I followed this step-by-step guide if you’re interested.
We saw Vice, a very good and interesting movie. Christian Bale’s transformation for the movie is amazing and will likely get him on Oscar nomination.
My friends and I tried a new restaurant in Bellevue called Revival on Lincoln. I loved the food, but also the traditional decor and architecture. It’s housed in a historic building with beautiful white columns and stained-glass windows.
I wore this outfit to dinner and could not have been cozier on a cold winter night. This beautiful cable-knit sweater is another purchase from the Christmas sales, marked down from $120 to $67. It’s such a versatile piece and adds something to any look. It’s currently sold out, but I’ve linked to a similar option.
Here I’m back to my gray-on-gray combo that I’ve been gravitating to lately. This was the first day of my capsule wardrobe. I’m already relying heavily on my accessories for variety, and I love this sweater-necklace combo.
Hope you’re staying safe and warm this week!

We’re officially back into the swing of things. Our Christmas decorations have been taken down and carefully stored away for next year, and it’s our first full week back after the holidays. How are you holding up? I’m doing surprisingly well, considering. Although I’m always one of those people who is eager to start the new year and set new goals. And the weather hasn’t been as terrible as it normally is around this time of year, which makes it a lot better.
I found these leggings while Christmas shopping for $20. Now they’re down to $15! I’ve been wanting to try out pleather leggings for a while, and I have to say I really like them. They’re great for adding a little something extra to everyday outfits or updating any of your old wardrobe staples. I think they’re best paired with long tunics and preppy sweaters and shoes that balance out their edgy look (unlike the leopard print ones I’m wearing here!).
Happy New Year! I hope you had a great time celebrating the end of 2018. I had some exciting news of my own to end the year. My boyfriend and I got engaged on New Year’s Eve! We’re both thrilled and looking forward to what 2019 will bring. Besides that I’m just trying to get back into the swing of things after completely disregarding healthy eating and exercise for close to two weeks.
In addition to shopping for people on my Christmas list, I tried to find some deals for myself during the holidays. I decided to focus on big chunky sweaters this year since those seemed to be a major category missing from my wardrobe. I’ve been trying to clean out my closet every season, getting rid of styles I no longer care for or wear. Last year, I did a big purge of my sweaters, leaving my closet woefully low on this wardrobe staple. With colder temperatures right around the corner, I was glad to stock up while they were on sale.
This pointelle sweater from Loft is one of my favorites. It’s big, chunky, and cozy, and styles perfectly with jeans and booties. I also want to try it with skirts for work. Currently, this sweater is almost sold out, but luckily Loft has a lot of other cute styles like this texturestich sweater and marled sweater. What are you wearing to stay warm this winter?

Happy Christmas Eve! It’s almost here. Only one more sleep until Christmas. Today I’m wearing these red velvet legging pants that I got on sale at Gap Factory for under $25. They feel like the perfect festive touch for a day that will be spent finishing wrapping presents and attending Christmas Eve mass where my mom will be singing. Now I just need to decide which Christmas movie to watch tonight. The Grinch? Christmas Vacation? Rudolph? What’s your favorite? I hope you have a very merry Christmas with your family and friends and find something wonderfully fashionable under the tree. Merry Christmas!

Wow! Just like that Christmas is almost here. Along with last-minute shopping, wrapping, and eating lots of cookies, I am trying to finish up a few things at work so I can enjoy a nice, relaxing vacation at home with my family in Cleveland. But before I hang up my loafers for slippers, I wanted to share this pretty plaid skirt I found for work. It can be so hard to look cute in the office during the cold, gray winter months, but a fun skirt in a bold pattern like this one can really brighten up those dreary days. Here I’m wearing it with a black turtleneck, but I could totally see this working with a pink or navy sweater or button down. The ruffle detail is the icing on the cake. What have you been wearing to the office lately? I hope you’re winding down for the year and get to celebrate the holidays with friends and family very soon!

(Unfortunately, this original sweater is close to sold out in green. Here are a few other options: A green v-neck with a blouson sleeve, a red ballet sweater, and a green crew neck blouson sweater)
We are officially in the thick of it! Parties, cookie exchanges, and white elephants galore! We’ve already been to a few parties so far and have a few more to go. For a lot of these gatherings, I’m excited to say I’ve found the perfect low-key yet chic green sweater. It’s a wrap style that has the most romantic v-neck and is in the perfect shade of dark green. I’ve paired it with black jeans to match its sophisticated look and added pops of interest with my leopard print flats and glitzy necklace. In addition to being super stylish, it’s really cozy and I can’t wait to wear it for Christmas and beyond. What are you wearing to your holiday shindigs?
Are you a morning person? I am. Most mornings I’m out the door before the sun rises to get the gym. I like to get my workout in before I start the day. It helps me feel like I can really tackle the rest of my day without distraction and with an extra boost of energy. This routine becomes much more difficult in the winter months, as I’m sure you can imagine. It’s never harder to find the motivation to go to the gym. That’s why I was on the hunt for a pair of sweatpants that are both warm and stylish. I’ve found them, and it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed with these pants. The brushed fleece makes them so soft and warm, and I love the jogger style. It’s a much more current look than your typical sweatpants, especially paired with a sophisticated coat like this one. Getting up to go to the gym in the morning will still be hard, but a little less daunting now that I have these pants. What do you wear to the gym? Does what you wear help you stay motivated?
