Brigitte Bardot and Canne, France

My inspiration for the Goodwill Good Style Fashion Show is a mix of 60s bombshell Brigitte Bardot and the beachside town of Canne, France.

I have always been inspired by Brigitte Bardot’s tousled beach waves, cat eye and 60s European style. She can appear both tomboyish and feminine, a balance I try to strike in my own wardrobe. She looks equally stylish in sailor stripes or girly polka dots as she does in a bikini or mod mini skirt.

Cannes, France, is a place that I dream about visiting one day. The city hosts the Canne Film Festival every year, where celebs show up in their formal attire and beach wear. I could not be more enamored with the glamor and luxury encapsulated in this cosmopolitan strip of the French Riviera. Dotted with palm trees and umbrellas, it’s a place where a straw bag can be paired with Loubatins.

Do you feel the sand under you feet and the hot sun on your face yet? Hopefully my runway show can transport you there.

Manicures and cocktails

I am slightly behind on posting outfit pics because of the plethora of wedding photos from last week. I wore this a couple of weeks ago for my friend’s birthday. We went to get our nails done and then had drinks and appetizers on an outdoor patio. It was humid that day, and I knew I wanted to be comfortable but a little dressed up for the occasion. Since buying my vintage scarf, I have loved using it to accessorize, and I think this is one of my favorite looks. It’s a very (correct me if I am wrong) 60s/70s look, especially with the head scarf.

Brigitte Bardot (Contempt, 1963) is a great inspiration in this image with her headscarf, nautical stripes, and cat eye makeup.
