$15 Pleather Leggings

Details: Charter Club Cashmere Sweater / Gap Factory Leggings / Sam Edelman Flats (Similar)

We’re officially back into the swing of things. Our Christmas decorations have been taken down and carefully stored away for next year, and it’s our first full week back after the holidays. How are you holding up? I’m doing surprisingly well, considering. Although I’m always one of those people who is eager to start the new year and set new goals. And the weather hasn’t been as terrible as it normally is around this time of year, which makes it a lot better.

I found these leggings while Christmas shopping for $20. Now they’re down to $15! I’ve been wanting to try out pleather leggings for a while, and I have to say I really like them. They’re great for adding a little something extra to everyday outfits or updating any of your old wardrobe staples. I think they’re best paired with long tunics and preppy sweaters and shoes that balance out their edgy look (unlike the leopard print ones I’m wearing here!).

Work Pants

I’m slowly starting to overhaul my wardrobe, gradually getting rid of things I don’t wear anymore and replacing them with smarter choices. Getting dressed in the morning was starting to feel like a frustrating task. My wardrobe was bursting at the seams yet it felt like I had nothing to wear. This was probably because I was buying individual pieces that didn’t always play well together. It was clear to me that I needed to take a more holistic approach. So I’ve started identifying my signature “looks,” the outfits that always make me feel good when I wear them.

One of my favorite looks for work is pairing leggings with my Everlane loafers. This is definitely one of my “looks” that I want to start building my wardrobe around, so I stocked up on work leggings when Banana Republic Factory was having a sale. I love this pair especially because of its herringbone pattern. They feel elevated compared to your regular pair of leggings. And right now they’re only $38.99. I can see myself adding a sweater blazer, like this J.Crew factory one, to my wardrobe next to go with this look. What are your go-to looks? How do you keep your wardrobe full of options?

Winter chic

Yesterday, the high was 26 degrees. So based on the peak in temperature, I thought it would be a good idea to take my outfit pics outside. Too bad the snow is so bright it blinded me, and I am squinting in all of these photos. I was going for warmth and comfort with this outfit. I really like the way the casual knit sweater contrasts with the bright pink, flowy skirt. I feel like these gray, fold over ankle boots add to the contrast of city chic and country chic.
