H&M Dress (Similar Dress) / Madewell Harper Mules / Old Navy Jacket / J.Crew Factory Necklace (Similar Necklace)
Hello! How is your week going? We’ve busy with wedding planning. We’re at the phase where we’re searching for a venue, which is fun but also stressful. There are so many little details to consider about each place and each one is different. And to make matters worse, our schedules don’t really line up this time of year. My fiancé is a coach for a high school spring sport, so most of his free time is occupied by that. I know whatever we decide will be beautiful. I just need to let the process unfold. Despite the craziness, I just had to pop in and share this dress with you! It’s less than $50, but looks so much more expensive. It has a great fit and the maxi style is so cute for spring, especially for those iffy weather days. I wore it with a jean jacket for a baby shower over the weekend and felt perfectly put together. This dress is not online, but I was able to find it in store at H&M.
I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving. Soon we’ll be mashing the potatoes, slicing the turkey, and Reddi Whipping the pie while watching giant cartoon characters float through New York City on TV. Thanksgiving is starting to become one of my favorite holidays because of its simple premise: gathering for a good meal with the people you love most and being thankful. That’s it and I love it. In my opinion, there is no better way to be. I love celebrating and appreciating my gracious hosts by wearing a thoughtfully put together outfit befitting the occasion. To help make your holiday a special one, I’ve put together three outfit ideas from casual to dressy that will hopefully inspire your ensemble. Cheers to being grateful with the ones you love!
Outfit Idea #1: Dressy Top / Jeans / Pumps / Chunky Necklace
This is likely what I will be wearing since it’s pretty casual at my aunt’s house. It’s just relaxing on the couch and eating really good food all day. I love the idea of elevating a pair of jeans with a statement blouse like this one.
Outfit Idea #2: Chambray Top / Black Skirt / Loafers / Chunky Necklace
This is a good option if you’re going to someone’s house for Thanksgiving for the first time and you’re not sure of the dress code. It’s dressy but not overly so.
Outfit Idea 3: Plaid Scarf / Black Dress / Riding Boots
I love this look for a dressier dinner. You could easily wear this with black heels instead of riding boots if it’s really dressy.

We just got back from Paris on Saturday and I’m admittedly still a little jet-lagged as I write this. Despite that fact, I’m excited to get back in the swing of things because Paris had such great style inspiration. Everywhere you go there are Parisians mastering the I’m-not-trying-but-look-amazing look. This outfit is definitely inspired by that philosophy. It’s a simple look yet it has interesting details.
The sweater blazer, which is my new favorite addition to my wardrobe, offers a modern and relaxed fit that instantly updates any work outfit. I especially like this version (which is unfortunately sold out, but I found a similar version) because it doesn’t have the button like some sweater blazers. I think that makes it look too similar to an actual blazer when the appeal of the sweater blazer is the looser fit. And I love the lapel because you can either turn up or down depending on what top you wear with it. Turned up, I think it looks especially sophisticated. It adds the necessary structure to the blazer, which really complements the relaxed fit. The blouse adds another element of interest with pleats that pop out of the collar and sleeves. And the color scheme is once again simple yet sophisticated. The menswear inspired loafers reinforce the look. I can see a lot more outfits like this in my future. What do you think? Are you inspired by Parisian style sensibilities?
Gibson Blouse, $45.90
Now that early access has ended and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public, I thought I’d share my favorite purchases. Ever since I got rid of half of my fall/winter wardrobe last year, I’ve been wanting to slowly build it back up with timeless pieces. What I love about all three of these items is how versatile they are. They’re great for work or play, so I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of them. And I feel good about getting these high-quality brands on sale. What were your favorite purchases from the sale? What are hoping to buy during early access?
Calson Back Zip Pullover, $39.90
Calson High/Low Tunic, $29.90

How cool is this flower print jumpsuit? It’s one of those statement pieces that makes me feel like a totally different person in a good way. It’s like an instant boost of confidence with its elongating features and bold print. My boyfriend bought it for my birthday this year, and I have to say he did a great job. I love the keyhole and bow in the front. Everything about it just works. And it’s the easiest outfit to put together. Just throw on some heels and subtle jewelry and the jumpsuit carries the look. What has been your go to look this summer?
When I look at old family photos, some of my favorites to peruse are from Easter. Not because of awkward poses with the Easter bunny, although I’m sure we have some of those in a box somewhere. My favorite part about them is how my mother used to dress up me and my sisters, sometimes to match, in frilly pastel dresses, white tights, and bonnets. We looked like little Easter confections, and I honestly think this is one of the reasons I am so into fashion. My mom always created these wonderful outfits for special occasions that I loved and could not wait to wear. As an adult, I still feel that excitement picking out an outfit for a special event.
Although I have moved on from white tights, I will be donning tights this Easter to stay warm. To match this year’s dress, I’ve decided to wear navy tights. My conundrum was then what shoes to wear. I wasn’t sure at first, but I actually think these nude pumps look kind of cute with tights. I think what makes this work is that the colors of the tights and shoes can both be found in the dress itself, but aren’t a perfect match. What do you think? Would you wear nude pumps with navy tights? What are you wearing this Easter?
So far, getting dressed this winter has consisted of me finding the longest, thickest, most turtleneck sweater in my closet and pairing it with pants. There’s not much else you can do with weather like this. So in an attempt to change it up and fight this winter style rut, here are three cute outfits for when it’s cold.
Mia Embroidered Boots, $59.97
Or go to ZuLily for more sizes and a cheaper price, $49.99
I got these boots for Christmas, and I have been hesitant to wear them with all of the snow and salt. But, if you are just hopping into and out of an Uber for the night and you don’t have to worry about hiking through mountains of snow, these are a nice way to add a little color and texture to the sweater and black leggings we’ve all been living in this winter.
ASTR the Label Tie Sleeve Sweater, $19.97
(Similar Nordstrom Rack tie-sleeve sweater here and here, J.Crew tie-sleeve sweater here)
If you can’t embellish your footwear, embellish your sweater. When I first got this sweater, I thought you were supposed to tie it the way you see above, but apparently the ties are supposed to be in the front. Personally, I think it looks good either way and it’s not the only way to make your sweater game more interesting. It seems like there are an endless amount of options for sweaters. Bows, ties, fringe, pom-poms, sequins, appliques, embroidery, you name it!
Thread and Supply Wubby Fleece Pullover, $78
Though this pullover may be for when you made plans with your friends and then decided to stay at home instead because it’s just too damn cold, I still think it’s cute enough to be worn in the light of day. That is if you do decide to leave the house! The fur elevates it from an everyday pullover to something a little more special. And if you do decide to stay in, put on your leggings and slippers, grab your hot tea and just lean into it. No one will care because everyone else is just as cold.
