I may not get much support on this one people, but I just love the floor-length, long-sleeve bright yellow Christian Dior dress worn by Julianne Moore at the Emmys tonight. I admit it is a little daring, but I think Moore has the poise and tenacity to pull it off. She did play Sarah Palin and win an Emmy for it after all.
I was a little surprised by the dresses at the Golden Globes. Generally, I believe that debating which celebrity looks best on the red carpet is sometimes silly because if you have the money to buy a beautiful dress (like most celebrities) how can you go wrong? But apparently some people have a lot of money and just make bad decisions, which is why personal stylists and agents exist. So out of all of the dresses, here are my favorites.
Zoe Saldana wears this Louis Vuitton well because it really compliments her skin tone. I love the draping and how it kind of trails off.
Emily Blunt wore this mermaid style Dolce & Gabanna dress, and executed it well because she has the frame to pull it off.
And then there is Cameron Diaz who just pulls off a simple red dress dress with black shoes. Simple but pretty is sometimes all you need. And this Alexander McQueen has some interesting detailing to it as well that doesn’t overwhelm the dress.
Maybe people are saving their showstoppers for the Academy Awards?
