You know the scene: leaves are falling, football is on TV, you can’t find any excuse not to eat the entire bowl of tortilla chips and dip yourself, and you have morphed into a jersey-wearing, scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs, angry sports fan. While only weeks/days ago you were having picnics outside wearing sundresses and sipping tea. Is that just me? So In honor of the official start to the NFL season, I am proposing a contest. Send me your best game day look. It can be as fashionable or as traditional as you like. For instance, instead of the typical jeans and jersey outfit, wear your team shirt under a blazer. Spruce it up! Add accessories. Go all out! I will choose three entries at random and then you the readers can vote for the best game day look. If you are just a college football fan, I will allow those entries as well.
1. Leave a comment on this post.
2. Email your best game day look to email@example.com.
3. You have until September 30 to enter.
Let the games begin. Good luck!
Sometimes when Victoria’s Secret follows trends I am really happy with the results. Here are three print dresses that I have been pining after. If you can hold out until one of their semi-annual sales, I am sure you can snatch them up for a good price.
I am a sucker for pretty and simple packaging. I wonder if the new Victoria’s Secret line of scents is worth smelling.
Drop-waist strapless dress, $58
Ultrasoft sleep tee, $22
Victoria’s Secret – Plunge cover-up tunic, $39
Carlos by Carlos Santana Mesa – Brown, $69
Betsey Johnson Oversized Square Sunglasses – Sunglasses – Nordstrom, $65
So I broke my shopping freeze for the first time over the weekend. There were many reasons for my downfall. First of all I was given a special invitation to an after hours Victoria’s Secret party to premiere the new Body by Victoria bras. I thought “Ohhh, a party, they will probably have food and drinks.” That’s seriously what motivates me. (They didn’t) And then I saw all of the bright colors out for spring and summer and gave in. I have so had it with winter and I am ready for sunnier weather to be here so I picked up a couple of their bright sleep tees and a new Body by Victoria push up bra. The new bras are really soft and have memory foam in them. A comfortable bra was very hard to resist. I guess you could argue that sleep shirts and a bra aren’t really indulgent purchases, but when you buy them at Victoria’s Secret I think that counts as indulgent. So I got through basically two months without spending, which is still an accomplishment and I plan to finish my last month without spending.
Generally I don’t spend a lot of time looking at or buying Victoria’s Secret clothing, but when it comes to summer, I am all about their styles for some reason. They always have really bright colors. And I am all about a new pair of brown sandals this summer too. What are you looking forward to wearing this summer? I know I will be wearing dresses as many days as I can.
My friend and I were discussing this the other day: Is Victoria’s Secret really the best place to purchase underwear? You would think it is because everyone and there mother shops there, but is there another source that I don’t know about? My friend said that she sometimes goes to Nordstroms. Is there any other place where people shop for undies and swear by? I just need to know!
