White Skirt Two Ways

A white skirt is a great investment for your summer wardrobe. It can easily cross over from dressy to casual depending how you accessorize and is comfortable in the hottest weather. These two looks are not very different, but the pieces that make up the whole are great supplements to the looks I already featured this week. All of these looks were achieved with 6 tops and 3 bottoms (This originally said 6 bottoms. That was a typo.) that could easily be mixed and matched to vary your vacation look while not over packing. These looks were based on the outfits I wore on my week-long vacation in Charleston, SC. So what do you think? How did I do? Do you have an even better process for packing?

If you’re going to break the rule don’t wear white after labor day you may as well do it right. The funny thing is the only reason I feel weird wearing this skirt is because of the rule. Otherwise, I am quite happy with this outfit. Navy blue and white go together. Gray and white go together. So what’s the fuss? I also love the way this white eyelet skirt looks with a sharp blue blazer. It has an English country-side meets Emma Watson feel to it. Will you be wearing white this winter?

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day! Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall and everything that comes with it; including pumpkin spice lattes, turtlenecks, and football! Like I said before, I am not one to follow the rules about wearing white. You may see me attempting to wear this skirt with gray wool tights when it gets a little cooler. But I couldn’t help breaking out this skirt one more time with some true nautical flair. I love how this Ralph Lauren button up makes this frilly white skirt a little more mature. The boat shoes help to keep it casual and nothing compliments nautical like this polka dot J.Crew purse. I hope you are enjoying your holiday festivities in style. What are you wearing today? Off to any cookouts?
